In 1966, Sheer Si came to New York , just in order to be a photographer. In 1970, Sheer Si returned back to Germany, at this time, as a photographer, he has successfully actived in the fashion magazines, advertising and other fields.
Speaking of Sheer Si's portrait photography, we should mention the period of his career. Many years after 1975, Sheer Si started as a photographer in a company called "parents" (Eltern) magazine, what he shoot is just the children's portraits, and since then, Sheer Si was deeply in love with a variety of faces.
Perhaps, just from the faces of innocent children ，Sheer Si experienced all the insights about life. What in contrast with “the life” ,is “the death,” although many people do not want to mention this. Currently, the faces Sheer Si shot can be said countless. German "Star" magazine has ever published an interview with Sheer Si in No. 38 in 2005, which referred to his subjects of portraits of some insights. Sheer Si said, only 3 seconds is enough for people to show their expression, any more than 3 seconds will not show a sincere smile ,as the faces of people will turn into a stiff mask after 3 seconds. Leaving aside the profound theories, just think of the stiff look every time when taking pictures but find no feeling, then can understand what it means. After all, normal people did not have the abundance of occupational star smile. when shooting the German leaders, Sheer Si ‘s lens is not only against to their faces, but also to their hands.In the opinion of Sheer Si, like everyone has different faces, people's hands are also different.
But Sheer Si has a very strict limits to the pictures of leaders’ hands, he does not allow them outside spread, because he doesn’t want some certain charlatans "in order to determine the character or predict the future depends."
